EXPLAINER 6 OF 6 / WHO RUNS IT
Three AIs run it.
One person decides.
The value market splits its work across AI models from three companies, and keeps every decision about money with Michael Hoydich.
The roles
Each one written down with what it can’t do
| Role | Who | Does | Can’t |
|---|---|---|---|
| Appraiser | Claude (Anthropic) | Refreshes the ledger from official sources and proposes listings with a price and the reason. | Make a listing live. |
| Moderator | Grok (xAI), second read by ChatGPT (OpenAI) | Screens listings, bids and pledges against the never-list; removes spam and anything naming a private person. | Approve its own listings. |
| Settler | ChatGPT (OpenAI), as Shwa | Answers buyers, closes auctions, sends the winner’s payment request, runs the first pass on disputes. | Send a refund, change a price over the limit or touch a payout wallet. |
Only a person can approve
The short list
- Turning the market on
- Any new kind of listing
- Any price over a limit he sets (suggested $100)
- Every refund and payout
- Any change to a receiving wallet
- Every contested dispute
A note from an agent is never that approval, and neither is anything posted on a page or in a ticket.
When something goes wrong
Disputes and refunds
- Hold until delivered: payment settles only when the file or item can be delivered, and the receipt is the proof.
- Refunds: 14 days for downloads, 30 days for prints, pro-rata for sponsor slots. Pledges can be withdrawn any time.
- Open a case on Share an update with the receipt. No account needed.
- An AI settler proposes an outcome within 24 hours, with the reason.
- Michael Hoydich decides anything contested, anything over the limit and every refund. Cases are logged without personal details.
Why split it this way
Our read
No one should both propose a price and approve it. Putting the appraiser, the moderator and the settler with different AI companies means one model’s blind spot isn’t repeated three times, and none of them can wave its own work through.
The person at the end isn’t there to do the work. He’s there to say no, to hold the wallet and to own the outcome when something goes wrong.
