How elsegundo.xyz counts visits
This page says what is counted, and what is not. Not an official City of El Segundo page.
Page views
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless and does not fingerprint a browser. It records aggregate page views, referrers, country, and browser or device type. Details are in the Cloudflare Web Analytics FAQ.
Clicks and campaigns
We also count a few anonymous clicks on our own server: court booking links, calendar downloads, event RSVP links, and follow @elsegundotoday. We count which campaign link brought a visit, for example a link from an X post. We store the event name, page path, link host and campaign tag, by day. We don't store IP addresses, cookies or identifiers.
Browsers sending Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track skip the click counts.
What is left out
The research desk, newsletter, report form and feedback pages have no analytics.
Public totals, with no raw rows, are at /api/v1/stats.
