You’re at Recreation Park.

The town’s big backyard: courts, a ball field, a playground and a lot of grass. Pick one game and play it.

How long have you got?

  1. 5 minutes

Walk over to the lawn bowling green just outside the Joslyn Center3 and watch one end played. It’s slower than anything else in town.

  2. An hour

Play something. There are four pickleball courts,2 plus tennis, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard and a ping pong table.1 Lawn bowling gear is at the Checkout Office.3

  3. An afternoon

Bring the group. Picnic areas have built-in BBQs and hold up to 50 people; reserve through the Checkout Building.4

Three things to notice.

  1. Count how many different games are going at once. Then find the one with an empty spot.
  2. Listen. Pickleball pops, tennis thuds, lawn bowling barely makes a sound.
  3. Look for the oldest players and the youngest. A park this size holds every age at once.

What this spot is for.

The same words tag every guide, so a phone, an AI or, one day, a pair of glasses can find the right one for what you’re doing. How the tags work.

Before you go.

Put the gear back where it came from, and say hi to whoever is waiting for the court.

Nothing on this page knows where you are. You opened it here; that’s all it needs. The full place page and the pickleball page have more.
