AEROSPACE ALLEY / CHECKED OCT 30, 2026

Built in El Segundo.
Headed up.

A few blocks from Main Street, teams are building a nuclear microreactor, labs that process materials in orbit and an operating system for flight. Here’s who they are, what each did this year and how high their work goes, from the factory floor to geostationary orbit. Every fact links its source.

Independent and unaffiliated. Not an official City of El Segundo page, and not written with or for any company listed. Inclusion isn’t endorsement. Facts are dated records from public pages, checked Oct 30, 2026.

Why this page

The thesis, in three sentences

elsegundo.xyz has one aim: make the 25 miles around El Segundo a better place to live, and help the people who live and work here get genuinely good at AI in ways that improve daily life. The aerospace teams down the street are part of that story. They are neighbors and employers, and they already work with software, automation and tight rules every day, which makes them natural teachers for the rest of us.

So this page does two small things: it shows residents what is being built a few blocks away, and it gives the builders a dated, cited record that people and AI agents can both read.

How high it goes

13 companies, sorted by where their work operates

Geostationary orbit and beyond22,000 miles up and farther
Earth orbitA few hundred to a few thousand miles up
The skyAircraft, drones and the air above the 405
The groundFactories, materials, reactors and the networks that tie it together

Sorted by where each company says its work operates, from the descriptions quoted below. Highlighted names are inside El Segundo city limits; the rest are next door in Torrance, Redondo Beach and Long Beach. A sorting, not a survey.
