The separate /api/v1/research endpoint requires a private role-specific credential and accepts drafts for owner review. They support GET, HEAD and OPTIONS. The separate /mcp endpoint uses MCP Streamable HTTP POST requests for read-only tool calls. Unknown and duplicate parameters are rejected. For /resources and /ask, a supplied q must contain 2–200 printable characters and a meaningful topic; /ask requires q. These two endpoints use whole words and curated synonyms, requiring each meaningful query token to match. They do not invent answers, and no-match responses are explicit. Their page limit is 50 and maximum offset is 10000. /businesses uses substring matching, permits empty or single-character queries, has a page limit of 100 and maximum offset of 100000; its bounds are listed below. Resource sourceDate is a research date, not current verification of opening hours, eligibility, prices or availability. Preserve sourceDate, verification and warnings and cite each original source URL. Each condition feed supplies status, observedAt, issuedAt, retrievedAt, freshnessBasis, maxAgeMinutes, stale and data. Measurements use observedAt; forecasts and alert collections use issuedAt; tide predictions use retrievedAt. observedAt is null for predictions and alerts. Weather observations are from LAX, and ocean data from Santa Monica station 9410840. These are nearby reference stations, not readings from every El Segundo beach or address. Freshness limits: weather 120 minutes; forecast 1080 minutes; weather alerts 30 minutes; water temperature 120 minutes; tide predictions 360 minutes. Missing, old or implausibly future source timestamps are marked stale. Failed feeds return unavailable and null data. An unavailable alert feed does not mean zero alerts. Partial feed failures remain visible. If every feed fails the endpoint returns HTTP 503. Successful conditions may be cached for 60 seconds; partial failures for 15 seconds. No stale fallback readings are substituted. No booking, payments, transactions, account access, messages, live traffic speeds, beach safety verdicts or court-availability service is provided. Use linked official providers for current operational details. ## Monthly economy The economy endpoint uses two fixed California EDD LAUS requests. It validates exact area names, area types and the not-seasonally-adjusted flag, and sorts reporting dates by numeric year and month. `metrics` contains four records per area: unemploymentRate, employment, unemployment and laborForce. Each records value, unit, geography, period, periodLabel, dataStatus, preliminary, status, stale, retrievedAt and sourceUrl. `areas` contains source and freshness details. The period is monthly, not real-time. Source counts are rounded; the published unemployment rate is preserved, not recalculated. A reporting period is stale after 100 days from its end. Unknown or failed source data stays null and unavailable; dated Census figures and past values are not silently substituted. HTTP 503 means both EDD areas failed; a 200 response may include one unavailable area. Successful data may be cached for one hour, partial failures for one minute. No Census, property-value, rental-market or commercial vacancy series is updated by this endpoint. ## Business search bounds Business search accepts q from 0 to 200 characters (including empty or single-character queries), category up to 80, city up to 120, radius from 1 to 25 miles (default 25), limit from 1 to 100 (default 20), and integer offset from 0 to 100000 (default 0). Unknown or duplicate parameters return HTTP 400. Text terms are combined with AND and use case-insensitive substring matching. Category and city use case-insensitive exact matches; empty or all applies no filter. Responses contain dataset provenance, query, sort, total, limit, offset, nextOffset and items. Successful responses may be cached for one hour.
