Tides, surf and coastal flood watch

El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach share Santa Monica Bay. This page repeats two NOAA prediction stations and two National Weather Service products. It is not a lifeguard report and not a decision about swimming.

Checked Oct 31, 2026, 2:05 AM PT. Tide numbers below were retrieved then from the NOAA CO-OPS API. The surf zone forecast was issued 2:07 PM PDT Fri Oct 30, 2026. The coastal flood message was issued 2:09 PM PDT the same afternoon. A later product replaces these.

Surf zone forecast

National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard surf zone forecast, product SRFLOX, issued 2:07 PM PDT Fri Oct 30, 2026. The zone here is Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. Read the product.

The same product prints its own astronomical tide lines. Those times are not the station tables above. Use the station links when you want the Santa Monica or King Harbor prediction.

NWS defines a moderate rip current risk as life-threatening rip currents possible, and a high risk as life-threatening rip currents likely.

Coastal flood

Coastal Hazard Message, product CFWLOX, issued 2:09 PM PDT Fri Oct 30, 2026. The zones named in the expired headline include Los Angeles County Beaches. The text says: "COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY HAS EXPIRED... Tides will continue to lower each day through early next week and the associated coastal flood risk has greatly diminished." Read the product.

A separate check of active alerts for 33.9192, -118.4165 returned no features at 2:05 AM PT on Oct 31, 2026. Active alerts for that point. An empty alert list is not an all-clear for the beach. Ask a lifeguard before you go in the water. NWS Los Angeles.
