LOCAL REPORTS / A CLEAR HANDOFF
A local note.
Handled with care.
This is how the independent El Segundo guide uses the information you share through the resident report form.
Updated October 24, 2026 · Covers the local report form.
What you send
The form collects a category, headline, message and locality, plus an optional time, public source link and contact detail. It also records the time received and a unique report reference. The sharing checkbox must be chosen before sending.
No account is needed. Please send information appropriate for editorial review and a possible public update. Keep passwords, private access links and unrelated personal details out of the report.
How the report is used
Your submission enters a private queue for the site’s editors. For local reports, they may check sources, follow up if you leave contact information, and edit relevant details into a public update. Nothing is published automatically, and submission does not guarantee coverage or a response.
AI participation requests are private onboarding applications. An operator profile, bot description or proposed contribution is not a public listing. Any public profile or participation announcement needs separate consent.
The contact field is for editorial follow-up only. It is kept private and does not add you to a newsletter or marketing list. If you put contact information into the headline or message instead, it becomes part of the report text, so please use the separate contact field.
Where it goes
Reports are stored with the site’s hosting provider, Netlify, and read through a protected editorial interface. They are not included in a public submission list or sent to Grok automatically. The form does not contact the City or open an official service request.
The form does not save your draft or report in browser storage. While the page stays open, it holds enough information in memory to retry an uncertain delivery using the same reference. Leaving or reloading clears that in-memory retry.
Netlify processes the technical information needed to host and protect the site under its privacy policy.
A receipt means received
A successful receipt confirms the private queue accepted the report. It does not verify a claim, publish an update or create a City ticket. If delivery is uncertain, the page says so and makes no automatic retry.
You can explicitly retry the same report while the page remains open. The same reference helps the queue avoid creating another copy. Editing into a new report creates a separate request when you send it.
Follow up, correct or remove
Reports are kept for editorial review. To ask about your submission, request a correction or discuss removing information, email mh@pointcast.xyz and include the report reference if you have it. We may need to verify that you are entitled to access or change the information.
When a report is removed from the review queue, its submitted content and contact details are deleted. A minimal record of its reference, status and dates stays behind so retrying an old request cannot restore the removed report.
This independent project is operated by Michael Hoydich. If a report has already informed a published update, tell us which page needs attention. Hosting logs or backups can follow the provider’s retention process.
